More than 700 participants met at Recy&DepoTech 2024 in Leoben to discuss the latest developments and innovations in waste management. The event attracted experts from science, industry and authorities, including the TCKT.
Numerous specialist presentations and workshops on topics such as the circular economy, resource efficiency and innovative recycling technologies shed light on the current state of research and the legal framework. One particular focus was on the integration of digital technologies to optimise recycling processes.
One of the main conclusions is, that better legal framework conditions on the producer side would relieve the waste management industry in many areas and that a constant dialogue with the legislator is necessary here. The involvement of producers is essential in order to establish sustainable practices in the industry and raise recycling rates to a higher level.
