About TCKT

The TCKT is your first address for application oriented research and development regarding plastics engineering and technology. We help you develop solutions for your plastics problems within our research projects, but you are also welcome to use our offer of industry contractual work, regardless if it is for single tests or longer studies.

In 2001 the TCKT was founded to aid the Upper Austrian plastics industry, especially the small and medium enterprises, who needed a partner for solving their plastics issues. Our motto is “A one stop shop from the material to the product”.

The interface problems are not an issue for us since we have expertise ranging from materials development, materials testing (since 2004 as an accredited test lab), product development, product and process simulation to verify the results through processing methods – our team will help you with all your inquiries.

In addition to efficient and fast processing of your request, the confidentiality is guaranteed due to the in-house expertise.

We are also very well capable of working on more complex matters due to our research network with different Universities and application-oriented research partners, where we can find solutions for you in an appropriate time scale.

Our services are beyond the mere R&D-work, we also support you with initiating and managing projects as well as we aid you in putting together proposals for funding.

To ensure recruitment of young personnel for our customers as well as junior staff for our team, we cooperate with all the educational units in the region – the University of Applied Sciences in Wels, the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and the technical colleges in Wels, Ried and Andorf. Besides supervising Bachelor-, Master- and Diploma thesis students as well as PhDs, several of TCKT’s team members are lecturers and lab practice supervisors contributing to education of the next generation of plastics engineers.

Team

Our team comprises researchers from different disciplines – plastics, chemical and automation engineers, to name some – who are working multidisciplinary on your research questions. A broad level of support for them is coming from our technicians, who are specialised in plastics processing, testing and chemical engineering. Students working at the TCKT as part of our team profit from the available knowledge and experience. Last but not least an efficient group works with the issues of administration, ranging from purchasing, shipping, accounting, controlling, marketing and all other necessities to run a smooth TCKT.

The proper equipment is also essential for working on the detailed questions within our research projects. We are dedicated to continuously keep a high technical level of our equipment. If there is something you need that is not on our list, just ask– we can often help you through collaboration with one of our partners.

Test methods

It is difficult to keep an up to date list of all of the methods we apply. Therefore we present a list of the available methods, but if you don’t find your method of choice, please contact one of our employees, and we will provide more detailed information.

Accreditation

We are accredited for some, but not all of the test methods we use, but be assured that the quality of the results is always at a highest level for all of the tests carried out at TCKT, regardless of the accreditation status of a particular test.
